aloo keema
Aloo Keema is a classic Pakistani dish combining ground meat (keema) with potatoes (aloo). Here's a simple recipe for you:
Ingredients:
- 500g ground meat (beef or lamb)
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a large pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
3. Add ground meat and cook until it browns, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula.
4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
5. Add diced potatoes and mix well. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.
6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
7. Adjust salt and spices to taste.
