bruschetta

Bruschetta is a classic Italian appetizer made with toasted bread topped with a mixture of fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:
- 4-6 slices of crusty bread (such as baguette or ciabatta), cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
- 2-3 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and drizzle them with a little olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Alternatively, you can grill the bread slices on a grill or grill pan until lightly charred.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Once the bread slices are toasted, remove them from the oven or grill and let them cool slightly.
4. Rub each toast slice with a garlic clove for extra flavor (optional).
5. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each toast slice.
6. Drizzle a little extra olive oil over the top, if desired, and garnish with additional chopped basil.
7. Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack.

Enjoy the fresh and vibrant flavors of homemade bruschetta as a delicious starter to any meal or as a light snack.
