Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- A pinch of saffron strands
- 4-5 green cardamom pods, crushed
- Chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
1. Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. Then, soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes.
2. After soaking, drain the water from the rice.
3. In a blender, grind the soaked rice with a little bit of water to make a smooth paste.
4. In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the milk over medium heat.
5. Once the milk starts to simmer, add the ground rice paste to the milk while continuously stirring to prevent lumps from forming.
6. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens and the rice is fully cooked. This will take about 20-25 minutes.
