 Einspänner is a delightful German coffee drink that translates to "one-seater" This small and strong coffee beverage features a shot of hot espresso topped with a dollop of cool whipped cream. The beauty of Einspänner lies in the separation of the hot and cold components, creating a textural and temperature contrast with every sip.

Here's what you'll need to make an Einspänner:

  • Ingredients:
    • ¼ cup (60 milliliters) hot espresso or strongly brewed coffee
    • 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) water (optional)
    • ¼ cup (60 milliliters) heavy cream
    • Sugar to taste (optional)
    • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
  • Instructions:
    1. Pour the hot espresso or coffee into a heat-resistant glass mug.
    2. If you prefer a slightly weaker coffee, add 2 tablespoons of water.
