Ingredients:
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Salt to taste
- Water (enough to make a thick batter)
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
1. **Prepare Eggs:**
- Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise.
2. **Make Batter:**
- In a bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, asafoetida, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add water to make a thick, smooth batter.
3. **Coat Eggs:**
- Dip each egg half into the batter, ensuring it's well coated.
4. **Deep Fry:**
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Carefully place the coated eggs into the hot oil.
5. **Fry Until Golden:**
- Fry until the coating turns golden brown and crispy. Ensure the eggs are cooked through.
6. **Drain Excess Oil:**
- Remove the egg bonda with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
7. **Serve:**
- Serve the egg bonda hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
